PROFILE Q. Please tell us about your golf game these days. What's on your mind? Could be about improving your game, tournaments you plan to play in, or upcoming travel. A. So I'm currently taking the winter off from tournaments to work on my swing with my coach – Rickey Sullivan. My ball striking has struggled recently and my goal is to get that back on track by the spring season. I'm also continuing to work on my short game because that's where the money is, right? I'm hoping to improve my midrange putts (8-15 feet) by the spring as well. Q. Please tell us a little bit about yourself – life outside of golf. A. I play tennis for my school (The Asheville School) which is my favorite hobby outside of golf. A vast majority of my time, though, is spent doing school work. My favorite classes are chemistry and psychology, and I might try to pursue one (or both) of those in college. Q. What would you never leave home without? A. I would never leave home without my phone and a hair tie. My friends always give me a hard time because I always have 3-4 hair ties on my wrist. Q. What's your home club? A. My home course is Biltmore Forest Country Club. I love the zoysia fairways and firm greens. This combination creates so many options for how to play each shot. Q. Who's your coach? A. My coach is Rickey Sullivan who works out of Bulls Bay in Charleston, SC. I've been working with him for almost 4 years. Q. What music's on your playlist before a round? A. Country music. My favorite artists are Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion, Keith Urban, Jordan Davis, and Russell Dickerson. Q. What clubs are in the bag? A. I play a TaylorMade M4 driver and Titleist woods. I have Titleist AP1 irons and Titleist wedges. My putter is a Scotty Cameron. B iltmore Forest Country Club's Rachel Kuehn won the Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls' Championship last summer and you'll see her winning smile come out whenever she sinks another putt at one of our tournaments or this fall when she begins her collegiate career at Wake Forest. We recently sat down for a few questions with the young champion. Catching Up WithÉ
