Streamsong's first two courses were Tom Doak's Blue Course and the Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw Red Course, which border each other – the design teams worked together on a handful of holes that overlap layouts. Both courses have a big, brawny links feel to them, with wide, forgiving fairways and unique green complexes more reminiscent of Scotland than Florida. Last year saw Gil Hanse's par-73 Streamsong Black design added to the lineup with a similar focus on fun, fast fairways and wild greens, this time with an Aus- tralian sand belt flair. The Black features its own club- house, along with the Roundabout – a practice area that can be played as a 7-hole short course – and the Gauntlet two-acre putting course. The Lodge at Streamsong is a striking piece of modern architecture, and the resort's dining and bar options are ideal for a golf trip, including some of the best halfway house food you'll find on any courses in the world. Be sure to fuel up and leave time to relax, since the resort's courses are walking-only in the win- ter, with outstanding professional caddies ready to guide you through the quirky world-class layouts. New From Noble House A pair of resorts owned by Seattle-based Noble House hotels is gathering momentum as hotspots on either side of the state. The recently opened Banyan Cay Resort & Golf in West Palm Beach features a new Jack Nicklaus Signature Design layout on the site of the old Presidents Country Club, near the popular CityPlace dining and shopping area. The course is get- ting rave reviews, and the property's state-of-the-art resort and conference center will open later in 2019. For now, plan to stay off-property while enjoying Banyan Cay as an upscale public golf option in an area known for its many private clubs. 28 | | W I N T E R 2 0 1 8 LAWRENCE LAMBRECHT Streamsong Black, hole #9 Tiebreakers!
